Local Management Board and Social Services Host Open Table Founder, Jon Katov

(Bel Air, MD) - - The Harford County Department of Community Services Local Management Board and the Harford County Department of Social Services partnered to host an event bringing together local leaders and faith communities to learn about the Open Table Model.
 
Jon Katov developed The Open Table Model.  It’s based on an encounter with a homeless man in 2005 that he mentored through his church in an effort to help him get back on his feet.   The Model is now followed in 15 states and more than 45 cities across the country. Read more...

Ms. Gutschick will dramatize the lives of three different women from the Bible. Services "fall back" to 8 and 11 a.m., a Ministry Fair and coffee social offer time to meet and greet and learn about our many ministries from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Celebration Hall, and Sunday school begins a new year at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. There is something for all ages. Read more...

Chabad Launches Torah Studies Course

New Semester Explores Judaism’s Relevance in Modern Life

Chabad Jewish Center of Harford County will launch the first season of its 2011 -2012 Torah Studies course This Wednesday. Classes will be held at the Chabad Center, 102 North Main St. in Bel Air, beginning October 26, 7:30 – 8:30 pm, and continue for eleven consecutive Wednesday evenings. Chabad Jewish Center Prepares for High Holiday Services

In anticipation of the upcoming Jewish New Year celebrated September 28-30, the Chabad Jewish Center in Bel Air has announced its High Holiday Services schedule. They will be “warm, friendly, traditional, and open to all,” says Chabad’s Executive Director, Rabbi Kushi Schusterman.

All are welcome to Services at Chabad, free of charge, regardless of background or affiliation. Membership is not required to join and there are no prerequisites. All prayers will combine the original Hebrew and translated English. Read more...
