Richard Norling and Jan Stinchcomb Reappointed to HCC Board

Richard D. Norling (District D) and Jan P. Stinchcomb (District B) have been reappointed to the Harford Community College Board of Trustees by Governor Larry Hogan. 

Harford Community College’s governing board is comprised of nine trustees who are appointed by the Governor for a term of five years; members may serve up to two consecutive five-year terms. Six members represent the Councilmanic Districts and three are appointed from the county at large. Read more...

Harford Community College to Launch Nursing Initiative

Harford Community College, in collaboration with Cecil College, will launch the Cecil-Harford Academic Progression in Nursing Initiative. This innovative effort aims to assist associate degree nursing students in their efforts to find the best program as they work to advance and complete BSN and MSN programs in a timely manner. Harford Community College was awarded a $545,675 grant to fund the program from the Nurse Support Program II administered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Read more...

Laura L. Henninger Appointed to HCC Board of Trustees

Laura L. Henninger, Esq., CPA, was sworn in on July 15 at the Harford County Court House as a new member of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees, serving as an at-large representative.

Henninger received a B.S. in economics and accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton.  She earned a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Maryland School of Law.  Read more...

Scott West Selected to Attend NEH Summer Institute

Harford Community College Holds Pinning Ceremony for Nursing Graduates

The Pinning Ceremony for 49 Harford Community College associate degree nursing graduates was held in the Amoss Center.  This ceremony, which is shared with family and friends, is viewed by most of these students as the culmination of their education at HCC.  After four semesters of clinical nursing, they enjoy celebrating with their classmates, who many have come to think of as their extended family. Hash Named NJCAA All-American

Colorado Springs, CO - Harford baseball standout Brett Hash received another postseason accolade as the NJCAA All-American Teams were announced. The sophomore earned Second-Team All-American for 2015.   

Hash earned the NJCAA Baseball Marucci Elite Hitter Award, given to the student-athlete from each District with the highest batting average. Read more...

Magnolia Elementary School Named a 2015 National School of Character

One of only four Maryland schools to be honored 

Character.org (formerly the Character Education Partnership), a national character education advocate, recently recognized 64 schools and three districts from 14 states as 2015 National Schools of Character, including Harford County’s Magnolia Elementary School.  Since Character.org’s Schools of Character program’s inception in 1998, 312 schools and 21 districts have been designated with this prestigious designation impacting more than 1.5 million students. Read more...
