The Florida State
University music faculty awarded Harford Community College Assistant Professor
of Music Neil Anderson-Himmelspach the Florida State University College of Music
Citation for Outstanding Graduate Alumni.
Dr.
Anderson-Himmelspach has composed both concert and popular repertoire and worked
with live musicians and the electronic media.
His concert music has been commissioned and performed widely throughout
the U.S. and abroad. Five of his scores
are available commercially including his Symphony #1, which was performed by
FSU’s Wind Orchestra and was one of the most popular works heard at the 2009
Festival of New Music. His concert
portfolio includes numerous works for large ensembles and for jazz and chamber
