AAUW Honors Local High School Young Women

The Harford County Branch of the American Association of University Women will host their annual Dr. Judith Resnik Luncheon on April 6th. One exceptional young woman from the junior class at each Harford County high school was selected for her accomplishments in math and science as well as for her involvement in extra curricular activities. Anne Heidenreich is chair of the event.

Dr. Judith Resnik was selected as the second female astronaut. She was a member of AAUW but died in the tragic Challenger accident of 1986. The luncheon was started 27 years ago by the local AAUW branch to honor her memory and to encourage young women to go into the math and science fields. Read more...
