HCC Presents Author of Ace of Spades

David Matthews, author of Ace of Spades, will discuss his memoir on September 9, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM, in Harford Community College’s Student Center. The general public is invited to this free event.

Matthews’ memoir explores his life growing up in 1980s Baltimore as the white-looking son of a Black Nationalist father and a Jewish mother. Just a few weeks after he was born, his mother abandoned him for Israel. Matthews experienced America’s racism from all sides. In his youth, he struggled with his identity and feelings of not belonging.
