On June 1st the Skipjack Martha Lewis, which is owned by the Chesapeake Heritage Conservancy, will travel back to the Eastern Shore of MD to pick up very special cargo --- "Martha's Wine" from the St. Michael's Winery.
On Sunday, June 1st members of the Maryland wine industry will be loading wine from the shores of Terrapin Park during the Chesapeake Bay Wine Festival onto the Skipjack Martha Lewis for delivery to Havre de Grace. The wine is made from grapes delivered by the Martha Lewis last fall from the Mt. Felix vineyard in Havre de Grace. The skipjack's journey celebrates the historic tradition of transporting agricultural goods on the Chesapeake Bay via the classic sailing vessel. Read more...
